Connect Internet Solutions today moves
to its new home at the Northwest
Regional Development Agency’s (NWDA)
Liverpool Digital site on Edge Lane.
Liverpool Digital has been developed
as a centre of excellence for the
information and communications
technology sector, and Connect will
benefit from the site’s strategic
location, mixed–use facilities, high
bandwidth fibre infrastructure,
optical fibre cabling and a range of
existing and new office and
manufacturing space.
As the first tenant of Liverpool
Digital, Connect will continue to lead
the way in web development -
delivering creative and innovative web-
based solutions for both public and
private sector organisations. Connect
will also be opening a state-of-the-
art business development centre at its
new premises, which will provide an
exciting blend of distance learning
and commercial training courses to
businesses of all sizes.
The move follows the NWDA’s
announcement in 2003 to bring together
the Marconi site, Wavertree Technology
Park, the former Littlewoods building,
and the former MTL site on Edge Lane,
Liverpool, as a major destination for
high-tech digital industries.
Steven Broomhead, Chief Executive of
the NWDA, said: “Connect Internet
Solutions already has an established
reputation for providing effective
internet solutions for businesses and
this move to Liverpool Digital is an
opportunity to build on this and help
create a leading national centre of
digital excellence. This move will
further enhance Liverpool’s growing
reputation for ICT and New Media.”
Colin Charlton, Chief Executive of
Connect Internet Solutions,
commented: ‘‘We are delighted to be
moving to Liverpool Digital and see
this as a great opportunity to further
improve the quality of our services to
clients. This move will position us
at the heart of the digital industries
on Merseyside and will aid us in
continuing to win prestigious national
work for the region.
‘‘It also marks a very exciting time
for us as we are currently celebrating
our tenth anniversary, demonstrating a
real stability that few in the web
services market can offer.’’
